Privacy policy

Husna: A Name a Day, for iPhone. Last updated 4 November 2026.

The short version

  • Husna keeps what it needs on your phone. This version has no account and no server of ours.
  • It has no adverts, no analytics, no crash reporting and no tracking.
  • It fetches the Qur'an text and recitation from Quran Foundation, and updates to the app from Expo.
  • We do not sell data about you, or share it for advertising.

Who we are

Husna is made by Qadam Studio and published by PharmGo LTD, under its Apple developer account. In this policy, "we" means PharmGo LTD.

For any question about this policy or your data, email uways@me.com.

What stays on your phone

Husna keeps these few things in its own storage on your phone. It does not send them to us or to anyone else.

  • Your shuffle: the date you first opened Husna, which is your Day 1, and a random number that sets your own order of the 99 Names.
  • Your reminder: whether the daily reminder is on, the time you chose, and whether the offer to set one has been answered.
  • The tasbih: only whether you turned on counting with the volume buttons. The count itself is never kept. Closing the tasbih forgets it.
  • The Qur'an text of the Names you have opened, for less than 7 days (see below).

Husna leaves this storage out of your phone's backups. A new phone starts again at Day 1, and deleting Husna deletes all of it.

The daily reminder

The reminder is off until you set it. When you set it, Husna asks your iPhone for permission to send notifications. This is the only permission Husna asks for.

Husna then sets the reminders on your phone itself, up to 60 days ahead, each with that day's Name and its meaning. No server sends them, and Husna does not sign up for push notifications.

Turning the reminder off in Husna's Settings takes every waiting reminder off your phone.

The widget

The Today's Name widget reads from a space on your phone that only Husna and its widget share (an App Group). Each time you open Husna, it writes the next 30 days of Names and their meanings there, so the widget moves on at 00:00 with the app closed. This stays on your phone.

Sharing a Name

Share makes a picture of the Name card on your phone and opens your iPhone's share sheet. You choose where it goes, and the app you choose handles it from there. Husna sends nothing itself, and lets go of the picture once the sheet closes.

What Husna fetches, and from whom

Husna fetches from two places. Everything else it shows, the 99 Names, their meanings and the Arabic font, is inside the app.

Quran Foundation

When you open a Name, Husna fetches the ayat it appears in from Quran Foundation (api.quran.com): the Arabic text, the Sahih International translation and the links to the recitation. The request names only the verse, such as 85:14. Husna keeps the text for less than 7 days, as Quran Foundation's terms ask, then deletes it and fetches it again when you need it.

When you tap Listen, the recitation by Mishari Rashid al-Afasy plays from Quran Foundation (verses.quran.com). Husna does not save the recording.

Expo

Husna is built with Expo's tools. When it opens, it asks Expo's update service (u.expo.dev) whether a newer version of the app's code is ready. That request carries:

  • that the phone is an iPhone, Husna's version and its update channel;
  • a random install ID that Expo's update code makes on your phone, with no name, email or phone number in it;
  • if an update failed to start the last time, that error, so a broken update can be stopped.

It carries nothing you have done in the app.

Like any website, these services see your phone's internet address when it connects to them. Their own policies cover what they do with it: Quran Foundation's privacy policy and Expo's privacy policy.

Apple

Apple delivers Husna to your phone, through TestFlight while Husna is being tested. If you send feedback or a crash report through TestFlight, Apple passes it to us with the details Apple adds to it. If you have chosen in iPhone Settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may also share crash reports with us. Apple's privacy policy covers both.

What Husna does not do

  • It has no sign-in or account in this version.
  • It shows no adverts, and has no analytics or crash reporting of its own.
  • It does not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and does not ask to.
  • We do not sell data about you, or share it for advertising.

When sign-in is switched on

This version has no sign-in. A later update may switch on an optional Qadam Studio account, one account for all of Qadam Studio's apps. When it does:

  • Signing in will be optional. Every feature will keep working without it.
  • You will sign in with Apple, or with your email address and a one-time code.
  • Your account will hold your email address, an account ID and a backup of your place in Husna, so it carries over to a new phone.
  • You will be able to delete your account from inside the app.

This policy will be updated, with a new date, before sign-in is switched on.

Your choices

  • To stop the reminder, turn it off in Husna's Settings, or turn off Husna's notifications in iPhone Settings.
  • To delete everything Husna keeps on your phone, delete the app.
  • To ask us anything about your data, email uways@me.com.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version goes on this page with its new date.
